Vlookup/Index Match with Duplicate references

I am currently using vlookup formulas to pull data from 2 different sheets in my workbook. I am considering switching to Index Match formulas due to the high quantity of information I am dealing with. The problem with both of these formulas is that I have some duplicate references. Is there a way to have either formula recognize this and pull the information from the Duplicate reference as well?
