    Formula for Total Amounts

    What is the best formula for Total Monthly Hours and Labor Cost if my current column look like this:

    Mary 94.0 Rates
    $7,666.85 Mary - 55.53
    Dave 52.6 Dave - 60.10
    $4,468.05 John - 74.12
    John 28.2
    $2,934.93

    Total Hours: Need best formula to add up just hours in a column of over 100 people, so 94+52.6+28.2=174.8
    Total Labor: Need best formula to add up just the costs, so 7666.85+4468.05+2934.93=15069.83

    You get better result on your question if you add a small excel file, without confidential information.

    Please also add the expected results manualy in your file.

    format of your data not clear but ...

    =SUM(A2:A100) if data is column A

    Not sure what you mean...I have to include this information in my work. However, the example was made up information.

    This is the way it looks...I can't just sum this entire column of data because I specifically want Total Hours and Total Cost.

    EMPLOYEE MAY
    BILL 95.0 HOURS
    $3,900.00 COST
    JOHN 34.0
    $5,000.00
    ASHLEY 94.0
    $7,200.00
    SAM 8.0
    $2,051.00
    Total Hours ?
    Total Labor ?
