Return TRUE if cell value is found in a list

Hi. Is there a formula that can return true or false depending if there is a value found within a list.

For example, column A contains a list of vehicle registration plates. Cell C1 has one registration plate, I need cell D1 to return TRUE if C1 value is somewhere in column A, or FALSE is it is not found.
