Index and Match formula with Wildcard

I am trying to adjust my index and match formula so it will return a record in a corresponding field that only contain part of the name I am using as the match value. I am hoping to achieve this without using VBA. Any help would be appreciated.

I attached an example of what I am looking to achieve.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
    Use VLOOKUP instead
Enter formula in B2 and copy across and down
    Formula: copy to clipboard

Thank you. That certainly worked. I see you used VLookup instead of Index Match. Out of curiosity, does the wild card function not work with Index Match?

Is there a way to modify the formula so the reverse is true. In other words, if the "e" in Paradise was missing from the Source tab instead of the primary tab the formula would still work? I just attached a revised file called Index Match Wildcard test2.xlsx.

I am not sure I understand your question. The wild cards are helpful in situations when part of the string is missing otherwise you don't need to use it.
Here is a modified your INDEX/MATCH formula
Enter in B2 and copy across and then down
    Formula: copy to clipboard

Re: Index and Match formula with Wildcard

I was able to use the formula on the source tab to match from the first page so that solved my follow up question. That said, for some reason the revised/modified index match formula you sent did not work like the previous vlookup formula.
