Creating Required Fields for Data Entry

I have a log we keep track of issues and I'm trying to figure out how to require someone to enter their information (non-standard/free-text) in column A before B before C....before G.

I tried using data validation but in hindsight that didn't make sense.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks!!!

In other words, you want the user to fill in cell A1 before they fill in any other cell on row 1.

Then, you want the user to fill in cell B1 before they fill in any other cell on row 1.

Then, you want the user to fill in cell C1 before they fill in any other cell on row 1.

    etc
    etc

    Is that it?

Re: Creating Required Fields for Data Entry

Sorry, I realize my post lacked any clarity. That's kind of what I'm looking for. I'd like to make it so that if I fill in cell A1, I have to fill in cell B1 and so on through G1. I'm trying to prevent people from entering partial information.

Maybe it's more of a macro thing than a function/formula thing.

It's pretty hard to "force" a user to enter data.

I guess you could use some macros to detect empty cells and pop up reminder messages but in the end all they have to do is turn off the machine!
