extracted TEXT using Index and Row formula, unable to recognize as "TEXT"

Kindly help me in the following requirement.

I have used Index and Row formula to extract a list of details based on one criteria. For example: European Countries, Gulf Countries, African Countries, Asian Countries, Now i have done the name range of these continents and keep it as drop down list. If i select "Asian Countries", India, SriLanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, China should be listed out in B column and from Column C to Column E has Male, Female details . I have done all these process and It works perfectly.

Now, I have a master register, which includes the details of training participants with all their personal and professional details. i am trying to get the number of participants attended details from each countries by gender, occupation and other details. Hence i have used "COUNTIFS" formula.

My problem is, the countries i have extracted using INDEX AND ROW formulas. Hence if i refer the respective cell, The country name is not recognizing as Text. Hence countifs formula is not working

Hi,

Maybe you can try to use match instead of row. Or use indirect to refer to the cell where the country is.

But these are just hypothesis, it's hard to know without testing it.
