    Cool Night differential

    Hello,
Sorry, English is not my fist language so I hope my question will be clear.
I am writing a Schedule and need to be able to isolate the night time hours so I can figure how much every employees will cost.
On A1 is the starting time
On A2 is the ending time.
After 8pm to 10 PM Employees get 50c/hour more. Between 10pm to 6am (next day) employees get $1/h more.

We also have night employees so the time starting time could be looking like this :
    3:00 Pm / 11:30PM evening shift.
    11:00 PM 7:30AM Night shift.

I would like have a formula that could calcul how many hour of each differential every employees worked.

    Re: Night differential

Here is another alternative that makes a 24 hour table, which may be hidden for aesthetic purposes and/or moved to make way for other columns (to calculate pay for example), divided into 30 minute time intervals and is populated with the formula:
    Formula: copy to clipboard

Two columns then calculate the number of hours worked in the 8:00 - 10:00 and 10:00 - 6:00 time frames using the following formulas respectively:
    Formula: copy to clipboard

Note that column H is populated with the formula:
