    Deduct 25%

Good afternoon! How would you remove 25% off of anything over (3.00) hours, the hours worked varies and obviously this is just a sample there's more than 3,000 entries.
    Please see sample sheet-

    Thank you for your help!

    Re: Deduct 25%

    Put this formula in B2:

    =IF(A2>3,3+(A2-3)*0.75,A2)

    then copy down.

    Hope this helps.

    Re: Deduct 25%

Your the best! Quick question; can you break that formula down to me?
    I mean I understand the If(A2>3, but I don't get the rest.
If you don't have the time to explain that's fine. This was resolved!

    Thanks again sir!

    Re: Deduct 25%

The last part of the IF returns the value from A2, i.e. if it is not larger than 3 then don't do any calculations on it. So, if it is larger than 3 then subtract 3 from the value in A2 and take 75% of the result (i.e. reduce the excess above 3 by 25%), and then add the 3 back in.

    Hope this helps.

(Thanks for the rep, by the way).

    Pete
