What is the Microsoft Excel FORMULA that I need to use to calculate percentage of sales?

What is the Microsoft Excel FORMULA that I need to use to calculate percentage of sales?


Quantity Wholesale Price Subtotal Percentage of Sales
5 (cell B9) $24.99 (cell C9) $124.95 (cell D9) 10% (cell E9)


Total
$1,938.67 (cell D22)

How did they get 10% of sales?? What formula do I use on excel to get that answer, 10%?? Please help!! I've tried different ways but I never get 10%..I got 6% is there something wrong?

I'm assuming that you are relating to the pie chart.
Since pie chart is plotted based on Quantity ($B$9:$B$16).

In cell E9:
=B9/SUM($B$9:$B$16)

Copy down.

It worked I got 10% using =B9/SUM($B$9:$B$16)...but now Im trying to do the next one..how would this formula change for the next one? I tried to change it and i got 23% but its supposed to be 20%

Make sure you use absolute reference for B9:B16 (i.e. $B$9:$B$16) instead of relative reference (i.e. B9:B16).

If you use relative reference, when you copy down the formula, it will automatically shift range to B10:B17 and will give you wrong result.

You probably didn't have $ in $B$9.
Make sure the formula is B9/SUM($B$9:$B$16)
