    Trigonometry Blank

    Hi,

I'm drawing a bit of a blank in solving the below lengths and angles. If anyone could help it would be appreciated.

If I have one object at coordinate 0,0 with no rotation and a second at 100,-50 with a 20° rotation, is it possible to work out A, B, C, D & E? It is easy enough to work out B but I'm having issues thinking of how to work out the intersection point of D,E.

    Thanks,

    Re: Trigonometry Blank

From the angle and the point on each line, you should be able to get an equation that describes each line (y=mx+b type equation for each line). With those two equations, you should be able to solve that system of two equations to find the point of intersection (D,E).

Is that enough of a nudge in the right direction?

    Thanks MrShorty.
I got it working thanks to you. It has been a while since early high school .

I used the below equation to give me the intersection point on Y as I will always have X at zero. I worked out the angle of the coordinates based from the origin.
    =((1/((TAN(RADIANS(Θ))*1)))*(0-Run))+Rise

    Thanks,
