Hi all
I am trying to make a drop down list in excel that would let me choose the color (instead of having text with RED, AMBER, GREEN just to select the respective color). Is this something that can be done? I am using Excel 2010
Thank you.

use data validation list as 1,2,3 and use conditional format
if cell selection was 1 Red
if cell selection was 2 Amber
if cell selection was 3 Green

@nflsales That was just what I needed. Thank you. Now I have one more question. Would it be possible to add custom written text to the cell after I colored it?
I have attached a small example of what I am looking to do with this document. New Microsoft Excel Worksheet.xlsx
