Exclude 'total' cells for rolling sum/average

Hi there, what's the best way to get a rolling sum and/or avg from a row w/out duplicating the MTD totals -how do I exclude them without writing a lengthy Hlookup formula.

Doing it manually (=sum selecting the cells) is easy enough, but we need to have 0 margin for error when entering this data, so a rolling formula would be great.

Thanks in advance, look forward to any help I can get!

Many members are unable to see images in the *.png format due to forum compatibility issues with some browsers.

If you need to post an image post it in the *.jpg format.

Even better than posting images... post a SMALL sample file. That way we can test solutions directly in the file with the relevant data.

You can use SUBTOTAL function instead of SUM function.

Hi Tony, thanks. I saw that PNG was a welcome file extension from the uploader, and I had success using PNG last night.

Here is the file again, in JPG. Thanks again for any and all help (my issue is pretty straight forward, no sample file needed)

Subtotal function isn't giving me what I want. Tried that first, along with some wacky Hlookups, and I've yet to find the balance I need.

    Hi MrsRobot,

This a much easier*problem if you*Transpose your rows into columns.* Would that be possible?

OK, we can see that JPG image.

Based on that, what exactly are you wanting to do? You say a "rolling sum/avg". Of what?
