Summing Cells with Numbers & Value Errors

Hi all,

I'm trying to sum a selection of cells that will contain either a number or ="".
The reason why it will contain "" instead of 0 is because this avoids having 0's all over the page.
However, when I get the totals (in the upper rows), trying to sum these ="" gives me a VALUE error.

Please help me solve this issue.

Try using the actual SUM function instead of just the + operator..

i.e.
Change
=E19+E30+E41+E52
to
=SUM(E19,E30,E41,E52)

Also, just FYI

There's an easier way to hide zeros.
File - Options - Advanced
Scroll to 'Display options for this worksheet'
UNcheck 'Show a zero in cells that have zero value'
