Formula for calculating a needed average

I have attached a spreadsheet that includes grades. Column F needs to be the grade that is needed in M4 for the Avg of M1, M2, M3, & M4 to be 65%. Let me know if anymore information is needed. Thanks for all of your help!

    Welcome to the forum!

Please explain what you mean by 'grade'.

And if 65% cannot be reached: French M$ requires score of 146.

    Basic formula

    =260-SUM(B2:D2)

However, it looks like some Grades are to excluded e.g. M1 & M2 in "Tech Ed" (?)

Grades in school. I suppose these all be in percentages but I didn't do it that way. So by grade, I guess I mean what number is needed to reach 65.

Re: Formula for calculating a needed average

We need to identify excluded grades: leaving them blank will not work e.g. M3 and M4 in Art

Can the formula for those two rows just be different? Only to include the 2 corresponding columns?
