Hello Excel friends,
I'm having trouble creating a formula to determine hours:minutes between two dates/times with different days.
*determine hours and minutes between "1/1/15 00:40" and "1/2/15 15:44"
It should be 39:04 but I only get 15:04 by subtracting larger from smaller.

You probably just need to format it correctly
39:04 - 24 (hrs) = 15:04

Thanks for the response. I think I was not too clear maybe.
If A1="1/1/15 00:40" and B1="1/2/15 15:44" I need to know the difference between those dates/times.

You need to format the cell custom number [h]:mm

substitute commas with semi-colons if your region settings requires
