Hi All
I am trying to find the dates between 2 values using the index match formula (see attached spreadsheet - row 13) and I need some assistance - I am trying to tell excel "return the column number where this date (cell E11) falls between these 2 dates (anchored cells E7 and J7)".
If there is a quicker / easier manner in which to accomplish this that would also be greatly appreciated!

So in your example, May 31,2017 falls between 31 Aug 16 and (Cell F7) and 31 Aug 17 (Cell G7). What do you want to appear in cell E13 and why?

substitute commas with semi-colons if your region settings requires

No problem.
Connexion used 1 because you are looking for a value within a range that is sorted in ascending order and the value doesn't necessarily have to match the values in the range, it could fall in between. "0" is used for finding an exact match.
