    Index/Match for Dates

    Hey All,

Trying to get my data to spit out the data i want for delivery but having trouble.

What I am after is I am using this sheet as a live document. It currently shows dates in row 1 and amount of package for delivery in row 2.

In Column B, I want a formula to show when the next date that I would have deliveries. And than another showing how many deliveries is the next one base on today.

    Thank in advance!!

    Re: Index/Match for Dates

    Welcome to the forum!

Will you please attach a sample Excel workbook? We are not able to work with or manipulate a picture of one.

    1. Make sure that your sample data are REPRESENTATIVE of your real data. The use of unrepresentative data is very frustrating and can lead to long delays in reaching a solution.

    2. Make sure that your desired solution is also shown (mock up the results manually).

    3. Make sure that all confidential data is removed or replaced with dummy data first (e.g. names, addresses, E-mails, etc.).

    4. Try to avoid using merged cells as they cause lots of problems.

Unfortunately the attachment icon doesn't work at the moment, so to attach an Excel file you have to do the following: just before posting, scroll down to Go Advanced and then scroll down to Manage Attachments. Now follow the instructions at the top of that screen.

Please pay particular attention to point 2 (above): without an idea of your intended outcomes, it is often very difficult to offer appropriate advice.

you can try to use the conditional formatting, it will not effect to any formula in the sheet.
it will highlight in row 2

    For Today
    1. Highlight row 2
    2. conditional formatting > New Rules... > Use formula to determine...
    3. put in this formula
    Formula: copy to clipboard

    4. Modify the format you want.
    5. select ok

    For Tomorrow
    repeat 1 and 2 above,
    3. put in this formula
    Formula: copy to clipboard

    4. and 5. same with above

Main condition/requirement: the date is date format (it can check by change the format to number, it will become 5 digits numbers and start with 4)
your computer Date is function well....

PS: Please use different format to differentiate. (I common use difference fill in color)
