INDIRECT on a closed workbook

Hi,
I am trying to use Indirect on a closed workbook, but having some trouble.
this is the name of the workbook that is closed

What I need it to do is use that name but use the indirect function for the "17-10" part of the file name
I can't seem to figure it out. Tried to use indirect and link each part of the name of the workbook ie.

but that doesn't seem to work.

Re: INDIRECT on a closed workbook

In K2:
="17-10"

then use it like this:
=INDIRECT("'[INVOICE "&K2&".xlsx]Sheet1'!$M$47")

Unfortunately that doesn't seem to work, I had tried that previously. Do I need to put folder path or something in the formula as the workbook is closed? I get a #REF error

It does work if the workbook is open, but not when closed

Re: INDIRECT on a closed workbook

INDIRECT only works on open files, not closed files, perhaps the Morefunc add-in will be of use here?

1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
