    Copying formulas using a pattern

    I have a spreadsheet in which on Sheet 4, I want cell C3 = Sheet2!D5, C4 = Sheet2!F5, C5 = Sheet2!H5 and so forth all the way down to C84 = Sheet2!FJ5.

However when I use the Fill Handle to drag down and calculate the rest of the values, it does not recognise the pattern.

Is there a function I can input which will allow me to do this?

    Thanks.

Yes, there is. Copy the formula in C4 down:

    Excel 2016 (Windows) 32 bit
    C
    3
    ='Sheet 2'!D$5
    4
    =OFFSET('Sheet 2'!D$5,,ROWS('Sheet 4'!C$3:C3)*2)
    Sheet: Sheet 4
