    Conditional Formatting Project

    Hello all,

I have a conditional formatting project I can't seem to figure out on my own. I have attached a sample workbook. Basically what I have done is effectively figured out how to format column A (names) with the coloring I want based on the criteria given.

What I would like to do is apply that same formula to the players corresponding two rows. Example, if the criteria is met for the first player "Russell Wilson", I would like to place the appropriate font color in cells B5:X5.

When I try to edit one of the rules, it changes all cells B5:X14, and I cannot seem to change each rule by itself. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That works great Syrkrasi. However is there a cut and paste feature with conditional formatting? How do I get that through my entire worksheet? I actually have 140 names in column A.

Syrkrasi - Sorry for off-topic interjection:

Although there is no official rule regarding this behaviour, we request that wherever possible both the question AND the answer be provided in substantive detail here within the thread. An attached workbook is an excellent aid for posing a question and offering a solution, but solely doing that with no in thread explanation makes it difficult for researchers to understand or consider the Q & A of this thread without downloading what may be a pointless doc to them, if they can do that at all. Doing that also hides the content from search engines so others may never benefit from this.

I'm sure you understand, and we look forward to seeing you post your formulas/macros in your posts for the searching benefit of all.

Thanks again for all your hard work here!

    Re: Conditional Formatting Project

I think I have just been reprimanded, but I'm not sure. I apologize if I upset anyone. I am still very much a novice and I am trying to learn. My question now is this: how can I take the conditional formatting found in my attached workbook, cells C5:X7, and apply it to the remainder of my worksheet? I have more than 140 names. I can't quite figure out a cut and paste feature nor how exactly to use the format painter. If someone is willing to help me, I would greatly appreciate it.

No, not you. The comment was aimed at Syrkrasi, as can be seen if you look at the opening word of my post above.

    Re: Conditional Formatting Project

In your CF rules, you have several on the worksheet applied to different regions. Don't try to use the format painter for this - it will get you into a mess. Instead simply adjust the 'applies to' ranges in the rules themselves. You can have multiple ranges.
