Use grand totals from pivot tables to make calculations

    Dear Forum members.

I am using hugh ampunt of data in my excel files. Mainly containing time-values.
To analyse the data, I am using frequently pivot tables.
But I struggle with the use of grand totals in formulas.

Attached, I give a simple excel sheet explaing my prpblem.

I can use the grandtotals the first time in any cell to make any formula calculations.
But when I try to copy this cell formula to the next cells, it does not work out.
All cells get the same result as the first cell.

In B22 and B25 I placed the first formula.
But copying it to the next cell, gives the same result, but is actually wrong.

What am I doing wrong ?
In what way can I copy the formula to toher cells, in stead of typing the formula again ?

Thank you for any support, Aragon

    Welcome to the forum!

Try this in B22 copied across:

    =GETPIVOTDATA("Test 1",$A$12,"Type",B13)

and this in B25 copied across:

    =GETPIVOTDATA("Test 1",$A$12,"Type",B13)+GETPIVOTDATA("Test 2",$A$17,"Type",B13)

Re: Use grand totals from pivot tables to make calculations

You are copying the exact same formula to each cell.

To get the value from C14 you would need this formula,

    =GETPIVOTDATA("Test 1",$A$12,"Type","B")

and for D14 this and so on.

    =GETPIVOTDATA("Test 1",$A$12,"Type","C")

Try this formula in B22 instead.

    =GETPIVOTDATA("Test 1",$A$12,"Type",B13)
