    Rule 08: Cross-posting Without Links

Your post does not comply with Rule 8 of our Forum RULES. Do not cross-post your question on multiple forums without including links here to the other threads on other forums.

Cross-posting is when you post the same question in other forums on the web. The last thing you want to do is waste people's time working on an issue you have already resolved elsewhere. We prefer that you not cross-post at all, but if you do (and it's unlikely to go unnoticed), you MUST provide a link (copy the url from the address bar in your browser) to the cross-post.

Expect cross-posted questions without a link to be closed and a message will be posted by the moderator explaining why. We are here to help so help us to help you!

Read this to understand why we ask you to do this, and then please edit your first post to include links to any and all cross-posts in any other forums (not just this site).

No further help to be offered, please, until the OP has complied with this request.

You have not yet provided a link to the other forum where you have asked this same question. Please do so.

The only sensible thing to do with heavy cross-posters is, whenever applicable,soft-deleting ( hiding) all answers already given as long as OP has not provided the requested links.

Not much point here: the cross-post wasn't reported until AFTER the OP had received the help (look at the time stamps). However, he will not be receiving any further help here or in any other thread until moderation requests are complied with.

Trouble is (I think) that email notifications automaticlly sent out to OPs often contain enough to solve the issue.

    1. That's why I added " whenever applicable"
    2. The cross post report was posted by you yesterday evening, and the OP did not react before this morning. There is a good chance he did not connect between the two. So, if you had soft deleted the answers it "might" have produced a result
    3. Yes I can read time stamps. After years of moderating I should know what I'm talking about, wouldn't I?

    From forum rule #6B:

The current moderating staff will moderate. What's past is not always relevant to current moderation needs or decisions. Moderators too are just people. When perceived errors occur point them out politely via private message or the REPORT feature.
    Thanks for your cooperation.

    By the way:

    2. The cross post report was posted by you yesterday evening, ...
No, in fact I responded to a report logged by someone else.

Re: IF CELL VAlUE IS "?", THEN MAKE IT YELLOW

    Dear Moderators & Experts
This is my first experience on foreign forums negotiating my excel formula-vba requirements. Yes, i have read forum rules, but i really didnt know that to ask same question to another forum means a big event. in my native forums, you may ask it to wherever you want, and nobody will claim you only because you need a fast help. Anyhow, of course i understand what do "rules" mean, and i will act accordingly. thank you.

Re: IF CELL VAlUE IS "?", THEN MAKE IT YELLOW

The reason for the requirement is simple.

We give our time for free. We may get some Reputation points, that's all - any they cost you NOTHING

    Our time is limited.

I (for one) get very annoyed if you have posted the same Q on several sites and not told us because...

You may have had a good answer hours ago. If I spend 20 minutes on the same problem,

IT IS A WASTE OF MY TIME.

I'll never get that time again.
