using MATCH to rearrange data

I've attached a sample ledger which has data posted by date, alongside a different layout of that same information which rearranges it.

And if at all possible, I'd like to use formulas rather than a macro.

Could someone guide me as to how to use formulas such as MATCH, INDIRECT, and VLOOKUP to accomplish this?

Looks like a Pivot table could accomplish this. Drag in your column headings, and sort by ticket #.

Hi Pete. Will the pivot table work if the data on the left side is changed? (either existing data, or new rows of data). Or would I need to manually "sort" after each new change in the left section?
