Calculating *x ROI from marketing spend

    Hi
This is probably quite straight-forward, but I'm having a slow start to the day.
I'm trying to calculate the return on investment from marketing budget spent, versus the money we have in opportunity pipeline.

So for example if I have a number such as $118,840 as a budget, but have generated $13,407,222 of pipeline, what's the formula to show me that for every one dollar spent, I have generated $40 in pipe, for example?

I just want to end up with a number of *40, for example. I hope this makes sense.

Re: Calculating *x ROI from marketing spend

How much of this is an Excel question and how much is a more generic business question.

As somewhat ignorant of financial math, the first thing I did was put "roi for marketing allocation" into my favorite internet search engine. According to this (http://www.marketingmo.com/campaigns...on-investment/ ), the ROI is a simple ratio, which should be very easy to enter into Excel, (gross profit-marketing investment)/marketing investment. As simple as that should be, I have to wonder if there is more to your question.

Is that what you are looking for, or is there more to this?
