Conditional Formatting stops working at the 1424th row

Hello,

I am working with a list of about 2200 rows that have 5 different conditional formats.
$C2="M" changes color to blue
$C2="A" changes color to Purple
$C2="X" Changes color to Red
Cell Value <> "" Changes color to Yellow
Cell Value = "Done" Changes color to Green

My problem is that the formatting starts to mess up at row 1424 - it only highlights the one cell instead of cells C through H and stops highlighting the one cell at row 1825. I have heard that this is just an inherent issue with Excel but I thought that I would through this out to the forum.

I change the values to =$C$2:$H$2500 and it works great. Thanks Glen.
