my employees are surveyed by customers and we have a certain % goal that the survey needs to achieve.
Actual data is the following:
1700 surveys month to date in September
% = Yes is 90% month to date
monthly goal is 92%
what i need is a formula that will tell me how many more surveys I need and at minimum what % the remaining september surveys need to be in order to achieve a month end goal of 92%
Try the below one
=A1*(92%-B1)/(1-92%)
or
=A1*(1-B1)/(1-92%)-A1
Here A1 = No of Surveys
B2 = Present survey Yes %

Hey Samba. The result from your formula is 425. does that mean I need 425 surveys averaging 92% to reach my 92% goal?
Indeed, If we think of "positive answers" - it would be like this, because now you have:
1530/1700 = 90%
with 425 more positive you will have
(1530+425)/(1700+425) so
1955/2125 = 92%
But may be the real number of customers was (100%) 1889 (so after surveying 1700 of then we got is 90% of 1889)
1700/0.9=1889
Then to reach 92% of all 1889 you need to collect 1738 answers
=1700/0.9*0.92
and as you already have 1700 you need to collect only 38 more - hope this is your case :-)
