Hi All,
**The data:**
- So, I have 2 tabs in my excel spreadsheet, each with a link to an SQL Table from me ERP system.
- One link pulls some key information about parts, including the UID part number, location and a few other bits and peices.
- Annoyingly, the Part Description (a key peice of info we want ot print to labels) is in another table. So, this is where the second tab and query comes in:
- The second data link to SQL pulls in the same part numbers with the addition of that critical 'Part Description' field
The Complexity:
The first table, let's call it 'Parts Info', has 6,500 lines
The second table, 'Parts description' has over 8,500 parts.
As a result, I have two tabs with parts information, but they don't line up nicely.
The solution I am looking for:
How do I compare the two data sets and ensure that the parts description lines up against the correct part number and other sets of data from the first tab? Or, another way of asking it could be; How do I take 'Part Description' from the 2nd tab and append this in another column to the set of data in the 1st tab, all the while ensuring the part description is indeed in the correct row with the correct part number?
