Index match formula inconsistent on similar data

    This is driving me mad!!

The formula in Col E (sheet 1) is correct - & giving me the value I need into Col F (sheet 1)

    However

Why is Sheet 2 completely different??

The only difference I can see is Col A, but the ID's are unique - so I can;t see why it affects the formula in Col E so badly

A fix would be very much welcomed

    Ty

    Hi @Median

Sheet1 your eventId is sorted descending and in Sheet2 this is not true.

I suppose it is better to clarify what you intend with your formula, instead of assuming that the formula is correct, or that it can be used without conditions.

The formula in sheet1 has the 'End' value of the previous event as the delay. Is that you want?

    Hi Jose,

That's a good spot . The IDs in sheet2 won't be sorted, but the dates are sorted (& the dates are the important aspect (Cols B & C)), for the following reason (the formula's job):

Basically, each day there are multiple events taking place. The first event of the day is never delayed (because it's the 1st event of the day) (this is why there are blank cells); however there is a chance of a delay on all the following day's events. That is what I'm looking to calculate - & this is what is correctly calculated on sheet1 (Col E)

    HTH

    Any other questions, fire away
