Drop down list to change cell value

Hi all,

I'm making a spreadsheet to calculate cutting sizes for wood panels.

One sheet has the finished sizes of the material based on the designs and then the other sheet displays the cutting size values based on the data inputted on the finished sizes sheet (these are smaller than finished sizes due to the sides having lamination around them of a few mm).

For example if cell E,12 on the finished sizes sheet =1000 then it also shows as 1000 on the cutting size sheet.

I have created a drop down box on the finished sizes sheet which also shows the same selected value on the cut size sheet. This allows the user to select which sides of the panel have lamination, therefore if one edge is laminated (1L) then the cutting size is -2 so 998, however if two edges are laminated (2L) then the cutting size will be -4 so 996.

What I need help with is writing the formula so that the result of the drop down box automatically changes the cut size accordingly.

I don't even know where to start with it!
