Your table lay out is disaster, so I'm make a little changes, Is it meet your requirement?
I agree its a poor layout, but perhaps
=SUMPRODUCT(($A$4:$A$8="sam")*($B$3:$G$7="night"))
you could replace sam and night with cells containing the values
Hello all, sorry but still running into trouble
please review the following attachment.
Need to count the number of time an employee has performed a role.
Yes your sheet is not as the example inititally. The lines are 2 apart, you have called employee1 in the table and then try and count employee 1. Also you have merged cells which is not a good thing to do. I also have errors in the formula
=VLOOKUP(B6,'[2018 V4.xlsm]PDID'!$E$2:$G$146,2,FALSE) as the sheet can not be found so in cell shaded gray in column b I get errors, this prevents the formula working, this may or may not be a problem to you
If you change Employee 1 to be consistent in both places the below works if there are no errors
=SUMPRODUCT(($B$28:$B$69=$AB2)*(E26:Y67=AC$1))
otherwise you need to change the vlookup formulas =iferror(yourvlookup formula,"")
then it should work
Surely at times it is best to be honest.
Start again.
torachan.
It will work if you do what I said
