I am finishing up a big workbook with many VBAs, sheets referencing other sheets, sheets putting data into another sheets, graphs and more. I am stuck on one of my last items if someone could help me out.
I am looking for a drop down list, which values changes, based on the value of another cell. To hopefully explain fully:
I have a chart on sheet ‘Chart’ to track inventory accuracy in my plant. In A1 I have a drop down list of all of our parts. This is linked to another sheet called ‘Data’. Some of our product is located in different warehouses, ie, Finish Good, Production, Raw Material etc.. A product may be in 1, 2 or more warehouses. When counting our inventory, we apply a counting tolerance based on how hard it is to count an item. What I am looking for, the drop down list under Warehouse to only show the warehouse that I have said that product belongs, which can be found in the same list on my ‘Data’ sheet.
Here is an example of my ‘Data’ Sheet. I have around 300 lines of different parts/Warehouses.
On my ‘Chart’ sheet, when I select say Part 1 in cell A1, I want the drop down list in B1 only to show warehouse Finish Good and Raw Material as its only in these 2 warehouses as stated on my ‘Data’ sheet. Part 2 will only show Finish Good, and Part 3 will only show Production and Raw Material. I have cells C1 show the tolerance based on an Index and Match based on cells A1 & B1.
My current work around is my list in B1 has all the possible warehouses, but I don’t want the end user to be able to select a warehouse that is not allowed.
