    Conditional Formatting with Blank Cells

    Hey there all,

I am trying to set conditional formatting on a series of cells where there are currently formulas that calculate from other columns. If the formula calculates to over 70%, it turns green, if less than 70% it turns red. However, if the formula is there without any values, the conditional formatting is still showing a green cell:

    Here is my formula:
    =IFERROR(100%-(E57/B57),"-")

Without data in E57 and B57, my cell displays "-" which I would like it to, but currently it shades green and I'd rather it no shade at all.

    Help!

    Thank you in advance.

Re: Conditional Formatting with Blank Cells

If I replace the formula with that one, the cell displays TRUE and not the value, the conditional formatting does not display though.
If I add that formula to the conditional formatting, it removes all conditional formatting whether it's above or below the 70%.

I feel like we're getting closer... I'm probably just doing something dumb.

Re: Conditional Formatting with Blank Cells

See if the following would help.
Modify the formula to read: =IFERROR(100%-(E57/B57),0)
Apply the following custom formatting to the cells containing the formula: _(* #,##0.00_);_(* (#,##0.00);_(* "-"??_);_(@_)
Assuming that the "Greater Than"/"Less Than" rules are used for conditional formatting try
for green: Cell Value > 0.7
for red: Cell Value between 0.000001 and 0.7
