    Index Match with pictures in Excel 365

    Hi, I've researched this extensively onlin and while there are several tutorials, I can't get it to work.

    I'm trying to create a worksheet containing a column (G) which is dynamically updated from a choice of pictures located in a table on another sheet based upon the value in column F.

    The table on worksheet named "Tables" consists of numbers 1-4 in column D and 4 pictures in column E. The pictures are contained inside the boundary of the individual cells, E2:E5.

    I've then taken a copy of cell E2 containing one of the pictures and link pasted it into column G. Then, I've given a name to the linked picture (ImageColumnG) and a "refers to" definition of;

    Formula: copy to clipboard
    Please Login or Register to view this content.

    Finally, I put the reference;

    Formula: copy to clipboard
    Please Login or Register to view this content.

    into the forumla bar and get the error message "Reference isn't valid".

    Please would someone be able to help and/or guide in the right direction?

    Thanks,

    Jess

    Why would the number 4 need the image for number 1 returned? I don't see any attempted formulae here at all ...

    If you click on the linked picture and then open name manager, the formula is there

    I'm trying to create it so that if there is number 4, it shows picture number 4 from the table etc.

    So why have you provided a sample worksheet that shows the wrong picture?

    Re: Index Match with pictures in Excel 365

    Your formula refers to a sheet that does not exist in the workbook:

    =INDEX(Tables!$E$2:$E$5,MATCH(Orders!$F1048576,'CPDLC Orders'!$D$2:$D$5,0))

    Re: Index Match with pictures in Excel 365

    The picture is intended to be dynamic, it's not the wrong picture. Maybe I'm not explaining it well. The online tutorials I've read say that you start with a linked picture and it doesn't matter which one you use because once you have link pasted it into the desired location, the next step is to make it dynamic which is where I am stuck.

    The worksheet reference in red should read "Tables". That's helpful, thank you. I still have the basic problem however.

    The other interesting thing (may be significant?) is Orders!$F1048576 should read Orders!$F5.
