need to create a drop down that I can write notes in

I am making an excel sheet to track sales of items that I am going to start selling. I am learning excel as I go along.

I need to create a drop down that I can write notes in. I want to be able to click a cell and have a drop down open so I can then put notes in without having to use a large cell of maximum length. Can this be done?

It is excel 2013
