Unhappy Showing Only Time in Date/Time Column

    Hi All

Im new hope all is well

i have a predictment - where i have a long list of data which is exported from a site with 7 columns and one of the columns has the date and also the time together eg 01/02/2019 00:47

So for the whole column which is a very long list - i want to show only the date - i have tried changing the number setting to short date but it does not do anything

is there a way to do this?

    Re: Filtering

You could split your data/time column (assumed to be column D below) into two separate columns (H and I) using these formulae:

    H2: =INT(D2)

    I2: =MOD(D2,1)

Format H2 as a date and I2 as a time in the styles you prefer, then copy down. Then you can apply filtering to each column as required.

    Hope this helps.

    Pete

    Administrative Note:

    Welcome to the forum.

We would very much like to help you with your query, however the thread title does not really convey what your request is about. It has nothing to do with filtering, as far as I can see.

Please take a moment to amend your thread title. Make sure that the title properly explains your request. Your title should be explicit and not be generic (this includes function names used without an indication of what you are trying to achieve).

Please see Forum Rule #1 about proper thread titles and adjust accordingly. To edit the thread title, open the original post to edit and then click on Go Advanced (bottom right) to access the area where you can edit your title.

(Note: this change is not optional. As you are new here, I have done it for you this time.)

Yes of course Pete's solution will work - for any number of rows. Have you tried it?
