In the attachment is a small sample of the data that I am wanting to use. I was using a Sumifs formula so that in B7 I would get the results of the total from K for Descriptions in I that matched Original Estimate and Approved est changes. I was able to do this if I took column A and split it into a number 213000, since this same number as in G. I was trying to figure out how I could leave it as is and have the sumifs, by doing a left function pull the same data.
So in essence B7 and B8 are the fields where the formulas go. The estimate formula needs to be specific to the job number (12-05906) and the phase (213000) where the estimate equals the words Original Estimate and Approved est changes. Then in B8 should be a formula that pulls the same (job number)(phase), but then pulls from the description JC cost, AP cost & PR cost.
So I was able to do this by breaking up the Phase & description (213000-Project Mgmt) into two fields and do the sumifs, I was curious how to do it if I didn't want to do it that way.
Thanks
