    IF formula with 4 conditions

    Hi,
    I need a help please...

    looking for a formula for rectangle shape paper size calculation.

    width (G6) x lenght (H6)
    35 x 50 or 50 x 35 - small
    50 x 70 or 70 x 50 - medium
    70 x 100 or 100 x 70 - large
    140 x 100 or 100 x 140 - extra large

    If 35 x 50 it is small, if it is 50 x 70 it refers to medium..
    I hope I might express myself

    Thank you in advance

    ilk

    Instead of showing us a formula that doesn't work and we try to understand what you want, suggest you write out in simple English what you want to happen and let us help you to write the formula in the correct manner. We are experts here at Excel and but fail miserably at mind reading.

    Re: IF formula with 4 conditions

    IF(AND(G6<=50,I6<=35),"SMALL",IF(and(G6<=70,I6<=50),"MEDIUM",IF(and(G6<=100,I6<=70),"LARGE",IF(and(G6>=100,I6>70)"EXTRA LARGE",""))))

    you just forgot to include the other and() functions.

    Re: IF formula with 4 conditions

    I would consider using a vlookup as the solution but

    IF(max(G6,I6)<=50,"SMALL",IF(max(G6,I6)<=70,"MEDIUM",IF(max(G6,I6)<=100,"LARGE","EXTRA LARGE")))
