time series return positive and negative numbers and numbers following

I have a time series with positive and negative numbers. See attachment with example.

Problem:
1. I need to find the first number equal or above 2,2 or equal below -2,2.
2. If I find the number above 2,2 than I need to return the next number in the time series that is 0 or below. Or if I find -2,2 or below i Need to return the next 0 or above number in the time series.
3. repeat.

As the numbers does not come in any order (seems pretty random to me), I cant figure out how to do this. I can return the numbers with the IF function but there i get stuck.
