Format cell colour based on time interval expressed as text

hello everyone

in my excel file conditional format is not working,

im using year month days, im looking that if the days is less than 5 days then it will shows in Red color, attached file is for your convenience.

in cell A1 time will be mentioned, like: 5 Years, 4 Month, 17 Days
if the cell value is less than 5 Days, like: 3 Days only then it will be shown in Red color,

To be honest... your revised title isn't much better.

A GOOD thread title is the sort of thing you would use as a search term on Google*. Your chosen title would produce a squillion useless hits. In future, please take a bit more time to think of a descriptive title that would be "Google-friendly". Many people search the forum answers looking for help and your very general title wouldn't help them at all. However, at least you made some sort of effort... so I have changed it to something more suitable.

One Q, as your requirement is not clear.

Is 4 years 2 months 2 days to be formatted as red.... or only cells with ONLY days which are less than 5 are to be formatted???

Use this:

=AND(ISERROR(SEARCH(",",A1)),-LOOKUP(1,-LEFT(A1,ROW($1:$10)))<5)

applied in the file to A1:A20.
