    SUMIFS problem merged cells

I have the attached table with merged cells, the number of row merging varies and is never the same, sometimes no merging is needed

I want to extract the total per insurers but for some reason the total does not work on all.

Ex: Generali should show a total of 121,937.50 EUR and USD 21,357.75
    Helvetia in EUR = 15,000 / USD= 1,000,000 etc

Please note that there is no rule on splitting the claim and that it is per vsl.

NB; at work i am working on MAC, excel 2021..

    thank you in advance.

Please update your forum profile. There is no 2021 version, so I presume you have Excel for Mac 365 - that's what your profile needs to show.

Merged cells are a big no-no - get rid of them, and it will make your life much easier.
