This should be very possible. I tested to record a macro while changing cell color and there are specific values to check if a cell is highlighted or not. Below would sum all cells that are not highlighted at all.
You just need to define the cells that needs to be checked, loop through them and assign each to the range-variable.. you might want to confirm that the highlighted cell is actually a number

Your example does not fit your question....
Do you want to count highlighted Cells containing Home (6) and Away (2) ? or both together (8)?
Is the table dynamic in size? Add as much information as you can.
