Can numbers be colour coded using a formula

Just a question I need to get the answer for. Can someone designate color in a formula. Example I need some numbers to show up having red or black as their designated color on a sheet. Using a formula only. If that's not possible can the background color be change using a formula.

You could use Conditional Formatting.



Please attach a sample workbook (not a picture or pasted copy). Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

Remember to desensitize the data.
