Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone might be able to help with a conditional formatting query. It's something I've been trying to figure for a long time and google hasn't really helped.
Essentially, in lots of data I work in, you'll have in column A some sort of uniquie identifier e.g. a product item number. This could be repeated a number of times down the column before moving onto the next number.
What I'm hoping to achieve is to use conditional formatting (or even a macro / some automatic system) to higlight each row in a colour, where the unique identifier in column A is the same.
It's kind of hard to explain so I'm hoping my attached example might help - the first tab shows the format of my current data and the second tab shows what I'm trying to achieve.
Essentially, I'm just trying to create a way to visually break up many rows of data in my workbook so that they are grouped together based on when they relate to the same item - so that you can clearly see rows x-y relate to one item, whilst rows a-b relate to a different item.
Hope this makes sense, and thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to take a look at this!
