    Using Conditional Formatting to highlight rows

    I'm still on my list that I want employees to use. I am not good on programming so I found conditional formatting. In Column A I have a list of of keywords i.e. Roofing, Shingle, Gutters, Siding, Sheet Metal in each cell, describing what the vendor does fo us. I would like to search using the value that is input in B1 i.e. Siding. I would like it to highlight each row that it finds the word siding in. Then the user can see all of the vendors that do siding. We have a list of 400-500 vendors and I would like the to open it, type what they are looking for and be able to just go down the list to the highlighted vendors and be able to call them.

    Thanks!

    For a quick and easy way to view each category just sort the file on TYPE

    TYPE doesn't have everything that they do, like Life Safety includes 20 different keywords.

    This is similar to your other thread in which I gave a proposed solution and never received a reply.
    1. Unselect 'Show Formulas'
    2. Populate column R using: =ISNUMBER(SEARCH(B$1,A3))
    3. Use the following as a conditional formatting rule for cells B3:P43 =$R3=TRUE

    CF formula:=SEARCH($B$1,$B3) for B3:Q43
