Remove quotes from links to excel

I have a group of cells that I pasted into MS word as a link so that when I change a cell the word doc updates to match. This works good, I have a bulleted list that changes based on excel, but here is the issue: the first linked cell link starts with a quote (") and the last cell linked cell ends with a quote (").

I tried combining all these into one cell with each reference separated by a line break (CHAR(10)) , but the same thing happens; the bullet list looks good except the list starts and ends with a quote.

Any idea how to fix this issue?

This is a new and different issue. No VB or macro is used, just an issue with a bullet list link from excel to word.
