Populate a column with file names using a formula (not VBA) - copy file names into cells

    Hello-

I have a spreadsheet named sheet, in a folder on the desktop called folder. In the folder there are 100 fixed length pdf file names. I would like to somehow have all the file names with extensions populated into the spreadsheet column A, beginning at cell A1.

I'm really not capable with VBA. Thanks for any guidance. J

    1. You can't.

    2. See attached file. Open & enable macros...

    3. Select a cell where you want the list to start.

    4. Press Execute.

    5. Follow th einstructions.

    6. If it's OK with you, I'll explain how to set it up... or you can simply use this file...

If you have any problems, just shout. I'm hopeless with VBA. You have been warned.
