    Which one is more reliable Excel Web function SUM or Count on new Web only function ?

    Which one is more reliable function SUM or Count on newly released Web function TEXTSPLIT ?
    Option A intermittently did not work; no error but returns forumula instead of value
    Option B work

    $A$34 and $A$42 have following formula
    =_xlfn.TEXTSPLIT("Send email with options for Matched",," ")

    OPTION A

    OPTION B
    =COUNT(
    FIND("TEXTSPLIT",
    FORMULATEXT(A1:A38)
    )
    )

    OPTION A FORMULA EVALUATION

    I don't know if reliability matters much.

    In terms of speed, I expect the SUM option to be much faster than the TEXTSPLIT version.
    You go straight to the point with the SUM function and you don't let the formula do unnecessary things.

    In this case I would choose the SUM function.

    Option A will count any formula, whereas Option B will only count formulae that include "Textsplit" so they do completely different things.
    Which is better depends on what you are trying to do.
