Hello everyone,
I'm trying to improve my Excel skills and, as part of a project, I'd like to be able to create multi-level drop-down lists.
I'll explain using the example attached.
I want to process a large amount of data (e.g. carrots, sprite, lemon, etc.) divided into several categories (e.g. Vegetable, Drink, Fruit, etc.), and I want to be able to select these first data items using a drop-down list.
I've created a drop-down list, like this
Exemple drop down list.JPG
However, I'd like to process a large amount of data with this drop-down list, so I'd like to be able to group the different categories together to have a drop-down list that's easy to use.
Here's an example of what I'd like:
Exemple Excel - Copy.jpg
To be even more specific, this is an exemple of a much larger table with a VBA function allowing a multiple-choice drop-down list (created using a Youtube tutorial as this is way beyond my skills....).
So, although I know that it's possible to make dependent drop-down lists over several columns (see below), that's not what I'm looking for. With this drop-down list, I'd like to be able to select data from different categories within the same cell, but to make it easier to read, I'd like them to appear by category first (as shown in the image in my first message) to make it easier to use.
What I don't want:

Do you know how I could create a drop-down list like this in Excel?
Thank you in advance!!
