Question Duplicate cell to new cell using BOLDTEXT, Arial Black, font color, cell color etc..

I have BOLD TEXT or Arial Black font that I need to copy to a new cell for display purposes. In the example below I want to duplicate a1 and c1 a9 and c9 etcetcetc into a different cell to make a list. All of the suggestions on line VBA, filter, etc all do not translate to a new cell. I need a new cell. This seems like a huge ask because noone seems to have found the solution. Again, BOLD TEXT or Arial Black are the variables to be used. The reason I need this particular solution is because this will be a living document and when I add more data it must show in the display list. Also, if I need tables, conditional text color, etc. anything I can do to get the necessary result. I have uploaded a snip of my excel worksheet. Also, I am using Windows 11 and Microsoft 365. Thank you so much in advice for your help in this matter.

    Welcome to the forum.

Sorry, but I have no idea where you are trying to make a list or how that replicates the formatting of other cells. I can tell you that anything involving formatting can't be done with a formula.

Please explain again in clear detail what you want, where you want it, and what it should look like.

OK. So how is Excel to know that you want those values?

    It may require VBA.

Re: Duplicate cell to new cell using BOLDTEXT, Arial Black, font color, cell color etc..

I think the simplest way to go about this would be to use the fact that merged cells only contain the actual value in the upper-left hand cell to our advantage, so essentially you would be looking for all the values in column A where column B is blank.

You can use a formula like this in N2 to do that:
    =FILTER(A1:A1000,(A1:A1000<>"")*(B1:B1000=""))

Adjust the ranges as necessary to fit your data.

Oh my goodness that is incredible thank you so much. I also need the c1 and c9 information to correspond with A1 and A9. I attached a file showing an example in red text. Again, thank you so very much for your help. Hopefully, you can solve the rest of my problem!

Question Re: Duplicate cell to new cell using BOLDTEXT, Arial Black, font color, cell color etc..

I am wondering in the function =FILTER(A1:A1000,(A1:A1000<>"")*(B1:B1000="")) you gave me I have three questions:

1.) Can we pull the font color and link in the above function.
2.) Can I add a worksheet such as "QCla Titles" to the function so it shows on a new work sheet.

Hope you can help. You have been amazing so far!!

Re: Duplicate cell to new cell using BOLDTEXT, Arial Black, font color, cell color etc..

I explained early in the thread that you cannot copy any formatting over using a formula.

You CAN put the formula onto any worksheet, but you’d need to change the ranges to include the sheet name of the current worksheet.

I am not sure what you mean. I can take the formula to another forum correct and see if they can help. I truly am looking for help and not savvy enough to know about what your saying. I try and make the post really easy and detailed so there is no confusion. The person was kind enough to help me out and I was wondering that with their obvious command of excel they could just fine tune it a bit.

Re: Duplicate cell to new cell using BOLDTEXT, Arial Black, font color, cell color etc..

The formulae you have been given so far reference the sheet they are on. If you copy the formulae and put them on another sheet, they will reference the same cells on that sheet. It does not really make any sense adding a sheet name.

That's why, in my reply to your PM, I asked you to post a sample workbook. Then we might have a better understanding of a) what we have helped you with so far and b) how we can help you in the future.

Re: Duplicate cell to new cell using BOLDTEXT, Arial Black, font color, cell color etc..

You can put this formula in any cell of the sheet 'QCla Titles':

    =FILTER('Standard Version'!A1:A1000,('Standard Version'!A1:A1000<>"")*('Standard Version'!B1:B1000=""))

You can't pull the font color and hyperlink using formulas, but you can change the font color of the cells that the formulas were entered into in the 'QCla Titles' sheet.

I stand corrected. It does make sense to add a sheet name as 63falcondude has done. I just didn't understand the context.

I don't know why you keep saying that you can take the question elsewhere - we are all trying to help you!

What I mean is this: let's say that you have a value in A1 and that value is MB45625. You change the font to Arial Black, you colour it red and you change its size to 18pt. Now in B1 you type =A1: the value MB45625 will now also show in cell B1, but it will NOT inherit the font, the colour and the size because a formula cannot bring that formatting across. Is this any clearer?

The others have shown you how to put your formula onto another worksheet.

You can COPY formatting from one cell to another: with the example I gave above, select cell A1 and right-click - copy. Now select B1 and right-click and select the paintbrush icon from the formatting options (this copies the formatting across).
