Sum two cells with if formulas (one blank and one with value) returns #value

    Hello,

I am trying to sum two cells with if formulas. One cell is blank and the other has a value. I get the #value error.
Any advice how to do this?

    Try:

    =SUM(M12,P12)

    Failing that, this:

    =SUM(--M12,--P12)
